CHECK TWICE, DELIVER ONCE

QC (Quality Control) in the motion picture industry is a systematic process that ensures mastered content meets all aesthetic, technical, and distribution standards before delivery and release.

The FIRST CHECK is a client confidence review that holds all finishing artists and vendors accountable. The confidence file is fully color timed and includes the full mix. The FIRST CHECK should happen before any deliverables are created.

The SECOND CHECK is a formal Third-Party QC reporting process for your Original Master, designed to catch and correct errors introduced during finishing — including audio sync issues, color inconsistencies, visual artifacts, and other problems that could affect the final product and audience experience. The SECOND CHECK should happen before delivery to any distributor or platform.

The Third-Party QC process typically combines human review with automated analysis to verify that the content aligns with both creative intent and distributor delivery specifications. This is separate from the distributor’s eventual QC process — and skipping or delaying it can cost significant time and money later.
